Fourth Caliph of Islam Hazrat Ali ibn e Abu Talib RA

Hazrat Ali (R.A) was known as brave and clever from his Childhood. He was born in Macca on Friday, 13th of Rajab, thirty years after the incident of the Elephant. His father was Abu Talib Ibn Abdul Mutalib, and his mother was Fatimah. 

His father was the leader of the Banu Hashim clan. Hazrat Ali (R.A) was the cousin of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him). Abu Talib was the uncle of the Holy Prophet (S.A.W). He spent his childhood almost under the guidance of the Prophet (S.A.W).

Hazrat Ali (R.A) was so close to Holy Prophet and usually, he asked the Holy Prophet about Islam. Once he came to the home of the Prophet, the prophet and his wife Khadija were praying Namaz then asked about the Prayer.
Hazrat Muhammad (S.A.W) said, “This is the true religion of Allah”
Meanwhile, Hazrat Ali embraced Islam at the age of 10 or 11 years old in his early childhood. In the starting, he kept it a secret and he didn’t tell his father about it. Hazrat Ali was also among those Sahaba whom the Holy Prophet told they have been bestowed Paradise in their Lives called ‘Ashra e Mubashira’.

Hazrat Ali (R.A) played a significant role in the migration of Muhammad (Peace be upon him). When the people of Quraysh made a plan to kill the Prophet, on the commands of Allah Holy Prophet migrated to Medina. On that night, Prophet gave the responsibility of the possessions of the people to Hazrat Ali. Hazrat Ali spent that night on the bed of Prophet and by completing his responsibility, he migrated to Medina. He was very close to Prophet.

After a few months of Hijrat, he married the Prophet’s daughter Hazrat Bibi Fatima (R.A). In 3 AH/625 AD, his son Hassan was born and in 4 AH/626 AD, his son Hussain was born.

Hazrat Ali (R.A) participated in many battles against disbelievers of Islam. He got many honors to get Muslim banners into the wars like Badr, Uhud, and also at the entry time in Macca. He defeated and killed a Jesus namely Marhab, who was tall energetic combative.
Hazrat Muhammad (Peace be upon him) said “Whose I am friend/master/leader, Ali is also their friend/master/leader
And
I am the city of knowledge and Ali is its gate
Hazrat Ali was also the writer of al-Hudaybia and also a writer of revealed verses of the Holy Book of Allah.

He was the owner of many titles like “The lion of Allah or The Father of Mud”.

Hazrat Ali became the fourth Caliph of Islam after Hazrat Usman (R.A) On the 25th Zul Hijjah 35H (24th June, 656 CE). His Caliphate continued for five years.

Hazrat Ali (R.A.) died on the 17th of Ramadan, 40H (25th January, 661CE).
